A Little About Meryl

Meryl has many enthusiasms, but is perhaps best known for her love of Shakespeare and the way she passes this passion on to her students.

Her friendly, comprehensive and inspiring teaching style helps students achieve far more than they thought they could and gives them the confidence and skills to attain excellence.

Meryl has developed some unique teaching methods and builds on the work of some of our great practitioners.

She has written many booklets on key aspects of performance to help her students develop their own skills and talents.

Experience
Meryl has successfully taught Drama and Performance subjects to all age groups and at all levels over several decades.

Record of Achievement
She has run Acting and Performance Examination classes with an outstanding record of high achievement, with the vast majority of students consistently gaining marks in the top bands of Distinction and Honours and gaining marks of over 90%.

Productions
Meryl has directed over two hundred plays covering a wide variety of styles and periods. Shas also written and directed several award winning plays.

Festival Plays
Her Festival Plays have won numerous awards and received much critical acclaim.

Examining
Meryl is a respected Examiner and examines Acting, Performance and Communication subjects at a number of prestigious schools and for independent Drama Teachers for the Vanguard Examination Board.

She is also qualified as a GoDA Adjudicator and is invited to adjudicate at One Act Play Festivals from time to time.

Meryl offers Master Classes and Courses in:

Distance Learning evolved during covid and has proved to be remarkably successful for all the classes, particularly with Advanced and Adult students.

Audition Students on “Zoom with Meryl” have all had multiple offers from major Drama Schools.

Zoom Students taking Advanced Acting Examinations for LAMDA and Vanguard achieved Honours and Distinctions, with marks from 94% – 100%.
